In Moscow, deforestation will be tracked from space

In the Moscow region, a system of automatic tracking of specially protected natural areas has been created. It uses artificial intelligence to analyze satellite imagery and radar data. This information is compared on the digital fingerprint of the area.

The accuracy of the classification of changes reaches 92 percent. This makes it possible to quickly detect illegal development and deforestation, especially with a decrease in biomass density. The system has already been tested and is ready for full-scale application in all protected areas of the region.

Implementation is expected to improve forest management. New technologies will allow you to quickly respond to violations. Work in this direction continues.
