In popular pet food found a dangerous substance
Clean Label Project study finds heavy metals in nearly all tested samples of popular pet food

A study by the Clean Label Project found the presence of heavy metals in nearly all tested samples of popular pet food. Traces of such substances were found in 99 of 100 tested products from 62 brands.
The study included products from well-known manufacturers, including Royal Canin, Purina, Hill’s and Sheba. Cadmium was present in 96% of samples and arsenic in 94%.
Special attention was paid to feed containing fish and seafood. In this category, the concentration of mercury was about 18 times higher than in other products studied.
However, the results themselves do not mean that the listed feed necessarily pose a danger to animals. According to the publication, the available data is not enough to advise cat owners to immediately abandon specific brands or products.
