In the Kama region, a man was convicted of interfering in the work of electricity meters

A court in the Perm municipal district sentenced a previously unconvicted 43-year-old man. He was found guilty of unlawful access to computer information, according to the GU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Perm Territory.

The police department in the Perm municipal district received information from an employee of the electric grid company about the revealed fact of unrecorded electricity consumption in the village of Lugova Ust-Kachkinsky rural settlement.

The investigation established that the attacker provided services to citizens for a monetary reward: he made changes to the design of electricity metering devices in order to underreport electricity consumed.

The defendant fully admitted guilt, repented of what he had done.

The court found the man guilty and imposed a fine of 30 thousand rubles. Also, he will be charged 5 thousand rubles in favor of the state – this amount he received as a result of committing a crime.
