In Pskov opened XVI Pskov interregional readings

In the Historical and Local Lore Library of Pskov named after I. I. Vasilev, the XVI Pskov Interregional Local Lore Readings began. They will last until October 11 inclusive, reported “MK in Pskov” in the central library system of Pskov.
The theme of the readings this year is connected with the 245th anniversary of the establishment of the coat of arms of Pskov and other cities of the Pskov governorship, as well as with the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the Pskov land and the problems of its preservation.
The grand opening began with a musical greeting from students and teachers of the Rimsky-Korsakov Pskov Regional College of Arts: a quintet of stringed instruments performed popular works.
The participants were greeted by the First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Pskov region Igor Dietrich, the representative of the Administration of the city of Pskov Gennady Ioilev, as well as Alexey Maksimchenko from the Ural community, who read a greeting from the General Director of the Victory Museum Alexander Shkolnik.
As part of the ceremony, gratitude was awarded to the Legislative Assembly and the City Administration, as well as commemorative medals “For a significant contribution to local history” and letters of gratitude to the organizers.
At the plenary session, Tamara Veresova summed up the results of the year, then reports were made by specialists from Pskov and other regions - about libraries, archival materials, the history of Pskov, the heritage of Kaverin, topographic descriptions, publications in old journals and much more. After the plenary part, guests were given a tour of the multimedia space of the library.
In the afternoon, the work continued in sections. The Historical and Local Lore Library discusses the topics “The Name in the History of the Region”, “The Pskov Territory in the Royal Decrees”, “Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage of the Pskov Land” and others. The section dedicated to Yu.N. Tynyanov works in the Central City Library on Konnoy Street.
The program of readings includes discussion of issues of preserving historical memory, presentation of books, reports on noble estates, Pskov Old Believers, history of factories and cemeteries, folklore, natural objects and little-known pages of the history of the region.
