Minister of Health of the Pskov region Marina Garashchenko reported on the results of the admission campaign for medical specialties and the employment of doctors in 2026. There is a positive trend in the training of medical personnel in the region, Governor Mikhail Vedernikov said.
156 students enrolled in targeted training, which is 10% more than last year. There were 60 target people in the residency. Medical colleges of the region accepted 335 freshmen: 140 people for “Medicine” and 195 for “Nursing”.
Since the beginning of the year, 83 doctors have been employed in the health care system of the region, 63 of them are graduates of targeted programs, as well as 104 medium-sized medical workers.
In order to attract personnel to hospitals and clinics, additional support measures have been introduced since this year: they have increased lifting fees for palliative service doctors and nurses, established payments to pharmacists and pharmacists, expanded the list of recipients of compensation for renting housing and raised the age threshold for payments for scarce specialties.
