In Pyatigorsk held a patriotic program “We stood to death for the Caucasus”

In Pyatigorsk, a historical and patriotic program “We stood to death for the Caucasus” was held, dedicated to the 83rd anniversary of the defeat of the German fascist troops in the Battle for the Caucasus. Participants – residents and guests of the city – passed along the author’s route “The Path of Defenders”. It started from the “Gateway to the place of the duel of M.Y. Lermontov”, then along the western slope of Mount Mashuk went to the Military Memorial Cemetery in the area of the city Necropolis.

Accompanied by historians and tour guides, the participants visited the places of mass graves of Pyatigorsk residents who died at the hands of fascist occupiers in August 1942, and learned about the little-known pages of the history of the defense of Pyatigorsk and the Battle for the Caucasus. At the end of the route, they laid flowers at the graves of the defenders of the resort city.

Earlier it was reported that in school No. 14 of the village of Pyatigorsky opened memorial plaques to two graduates-Heroes.
