In the area of Kalmykia honored veterans of agriculture

The solemn event dedicated to the Day of Agricultural Workers was held in the village of Troitskoe Tselinsky district of Kalmykia. The main participants of the meeting were veterans who 50 years ago supported the initiative of the Hero of the Soviet Union Basan Gorodovikov and stood up to protect the food front of the country.

Special attention was paid to the legendary brigade “Red headscarves”. At one time, young girls, changing their usual way of life, mastered the management of tractors. This group of responsible komsomols became an example of true heroism, proving that women can do any work for the benefit of the republic.

The symbolic moment of the meeting was the transfer of traditions. Veterans tied red headscarves to Cossack class pupils, handing over the relay of memory to the young generation. The girls wanted to love their homeland and appreciate the hard work of the villagers. The event ended with the performance of the national choir “Hope”, which created a festive atmosphere.
