The Northern UGMS has prepared a long-term forecast for the appearance of ice on the rivers. On the rivers of the Pechora basin, stable ice is expected in late October - early November. This is near normal and later than normal up to 14 days.
In the area of Naryan-Mara, the Pechora River will freeze in late October. On Usa - the largest tributary of Pechora - ice is expected earlier, in the second decade of October. The Kolva River will be covered with ice in late October and early November.
As of the beginning of October, most of the rivers of the district have a summer-autumn low water period.
