In Russia proposed to limit admission to universities of some expelled students
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft order that amends the current rules for admission to higher education institutions

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft order that amends the current rules for admission to higher educational institutions. According to the document, the agency intends to prohibit students expelled from the university from entering the same educational institution for five years. We are talking only about cases where expulsion is a disciplinary penalty.
The draft order contains the wording according to which persons expelled from the organization in connection with the application of expulsion to them as a disciplinary measure are not subject to admission to this organization within five years after expulsion. If a student was expelled on disciplinary grounds, he is deprived of the opportunity to return to the same university during the specified period.
This initiative, as follows from the document, is aimed at tightening the disciplinary responsibility of students and increasing the requirements for compliance with the internal regulations of educational institutions. The five-year ban on re-entry to the same university is seen as an additional measure of influence that should encourage students to behave responsibly. The restriction applies only to the specific organization where the expulsion occurred, and does not apply to other educational institutions.
About the timing of the entry into force of the order and what categories of students it will apply in the first place, the message is not specified.
