In Saratov there are no trees affected by gold
In 2026, not a single case of damage to trees by a dangerous pest - emerald gold

In 2026, not a single case of damage to trees by a dangerous pest - emerald gold - was recorded on the territory of Saratov. This was reported at the meeting of the regional Duma by the Deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor department for the Saratov, Samara and Penza regions Alexander Zubrilov.
Emerald gold is a beetle imported to Russia from East Asia. The insect destroys the trunks of healthy trees and provokes their drying. According to Alexander Zubrilov, it was the fight against emerald gold that was caused by the massive felling of trees in Saratov and Balashov district in 2024-2025. If the pest does not appear next year, the phytosanitary quarantine will be lifted, the deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor said.
In 2025, the green commission of the Saratov administration found 3,693 ash, affected by the pest. Greening experts argued that the trees could be treated, as is done in other regions of the country, but the city decided to tear down ash trees. Trees were sawing all over town. Ash, planted in Soviet times, chopped on the old embankment, in “Lipki”, in the city park, on the streets of Rakhov, Moscow, Chapaev. The last felling of sick trees was recorded in March 2026 on Volskaya Street. The Oktyabrsky district administration explained that the trees "cannot be restored.".
