In Shchelkovo detained 22-year-old courier scammers

As reported in the Department of information and public relations of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow region, in Shchelkov detained a 22-year-old resident of Moscow, suspected of aiding telephone fraudsters. A 26-year-old local resident turned to the duty station. He said that he received a call from an unknown person, to whom he gave the code from the message to record the replacement of the intercom keys. After that, he was contacted allegedly by employees of the Ministry of Digital Development and law enforcement agencies.

According to the investigation, the man was convinced that his personal data was seized by scammers to finance prohibited activities. To prevent this, he was offered to take a loan and transfer the money to a trusted person. The victim followed the instructions and then realized he had been cheated and went to the police. The total amount of damage was 1.8 million rubles.

As a result of operational-search activities, the police detained the suspect, who acted as a courier. She confessed. A criminal case has been opened on this fact. The defendant was chosen a measure of restraint in the form of a subscription not to leave. Measures are being taken to identify accomplices and other episodes.
