On October 12, all schools and colleges in Crimea held “Conversations about the important” on the topic “Internet security”. The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of the Republic Valentina Lavrik held a lesson in one of the Simferopol schools, discussing with students digital hygiene, personal data protection and countering cyberbullying.
During the conversation with the gymnasium, the minister touched upon not only the basic rules of digital hygiene, protection of personal data and countering cyberbullying, but also the deeper meanings of human presence in the virtual space.
“Talking About the Important” is not just a class hour or a schedule lecture. This is an opportunity to understand the challenges of the modern world through the prism of our fundamental values. In the era of digital technologies, it is especially important that young people are able not only to confidently navigate the information flow, but also preserve the inner moral core: respect for others, responsibility for their words and actions and the pursuit of truth. It is remarkable that video films are provided to the script plans and programs developed by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. This increases the motivational effect and interest of children in conducting such classes, said Valentina Lavrik.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister wished gymnasium students to use the possibilities of modern technologies for self-development, science and creativity, not forgetting about the main human values - kindness, honesty and mutual assistance.
This is the sixth class in the coming school year. Previously, “Talk about the Important” was dedicated to the Day of Knowledge, Richard Sorge, the theme of “Deed and Memory”. To the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the siege of Leningrad, the history of Russian civil aviation, artificial intelligence and the question “Why should a person read?”.
This year, for the first time, the program of “Talk about the important” includes videos dedicated to outstanding personalities and heroes of our country. The co-author of the new format of classes is the head of the Patriarchal Council for Culture, Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimean Tikhon.
Videos will be part of classes for students of 6-11 grades and 1st year of colleges. In total, 28 unique topics are planned for the academic year based on the lives and activities of famous scientists, inventors, commanders, rulers, doctors and philanthropists.
The cycle of extracurricular classes “Talk about the important” was introduced in Russian schools from September 2022. Classes are held on Mondays with the first lesson and do not involve evaluation - the format involves a conversation and dialogue between the teacher and students. In the new academic year 2026/27, the program “Conversations about the important” was updated, and a separate format was developed for kindergarten pupils called “Good Games”.
According to Gennady Shveidel, head of the department of organization of educational work, rest and rehabilitation of children of the Ministry of Education of the Crimea, the changes are aimed at creating continuity between the school and the family - so that the educational process continues outside the educational institution. Since September 30, 2026, “Talk about the important” has officially included videos created using artificial intelligence.
The new format was presented by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov and Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimean Tikhon (Shevkunov). Metropolitan Tikhon is the ideologist and scriptwriter of most films for the project. According to him, each ten-minute film is created for at least three months, and the process remains a full-fledged film production with the participation of writers, artists, directors and producers.
