In the Smolensk region is actively working on early diagnosis of diseases within the framework of the national project “Long and active life”, implemented on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin

In the Smolensk region, active work is underway on early diagnosis of diseases within the framework of the national project “Long and active life”, implemented on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 440 thousand residents of the region have undergone medical examinations and preventive examinations, including 350 thousand adults and more than 90 thousand children. By the end of the year, it is planned to cover more than 720 thousand people with various types of research.
To ensure the availability of medicine in the region, special formats have been created:
Mobile complexes. There are 52 mobile medical complexes for residents of remote villages and villages. Each team consists of a therapist, obstetrician and x-ray laboratory assistant. The equipment allows for fluorography, mammography and ultrasound on the spot. This year, mobile teams made more than 2,400 visits, surveying more than 95,000 residents.
"Night examination." The action started in June and allows working residents to undergo an examination in the evening – from 17:00 to 22:00. More than 900 people have already become participants in preventive measures in the evening, more than 300 of them were sent to the second stage for an in-depth examination, where diseases such as diabetes and hypertension were detected.
