Veterinarians treat the teeth of the leopard Skifu, which is contained in the enclosure complex "Laura" of the Caucasian Reserve in Sochi. To perform the necessary procedures, the animal was temporarily put into a state of anesthesia.
As reported in the Caucasian reserve, Skif moved to “Lauru” from a safari park in Gelendzhik. Before that, he spent several years in cramped conditions, which negatively affected the state of his musculoskeletal system.
After moving, the leopard became more active: he learned to climb wooden structures, sharpen claws against trees and show interest in the environment. The animal grew up in captivity and is not afraid of people.
In 2026, veterinarians found Skif had an ingrown claw, signs of pneumonia, and a broken and damaged canine. Now experts are taking care of his health.
The leopard has an official guardian who since 2018 has been helping pay for the animal’s upkeep, feed and veterinary care.
Earlier it was reported that the bear was spotted on the road to the resort of Polyana 960.
