In Sortavala, awards were given to active residents of the Ladoga region
The ceremony was held in the renovated Center for Creativity Development.
The letter of gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation was presented to Veronika Letunova, a member of the Board of the Karelian branch of the Union of Women of Russia.
This high award is a recognition of Veronika Nikolaevna’s invaluable contribution to the development of our region and the support of its residents.
She has spent more than 20 years working with women, protecting their interests and helping those in need of support.
Of particular importance is the work of Veronika Letunova during a special military operation.
From the first days, together with activists, she organized and led a large-scale work to collect humanitarian aid for military personnel in the Sortavala municipal district.
Under her leadership, the Hope Women’s Council held many charity events.
These are aid gatherings for defenders, charity concerts with master classes, and the production of trench candles, as well as psychological consultations for the families of SVO participants.
Veronika Nikolaevna’s contribution to the development of the volunteer movement is invaluable. Thus, sewing and knitting battalions have been created and successfully operate, a new direction for the production of special medical devices has been mastered, warm clothing for fighters continues to be tailored, including for those who lost limbs.
People like Veronika Nikolaevna, with their daily work and sincere care for others, show an example of true patriotism and civic responsibility. Its activity is a vivid example of how you can unite people for good deeds! – said Elena Malysheva, Chairman of the Karelian branch of the UJR.
