OpenAI employee pleads not guilty to wiretapping

CNBC, citing court documents, said Saudi Arabian national Abdulrahman Alfozan, who worked for OpenAI, pleaded not guilty. He is accused of installing a recording device in the office of the AI Corporation.

In mid-October, U.S. security officials detained Alfozan, who allegedly hid the device in a company conference room to secretly record confidential conversations about OpenAI technologies. He pleaded not guilty in San Francisco federal court on Friday, with the next hearing scheduled for November 17. The man has worked for the company since July 2025.

If found guilty, he faces up to five years in prison, a fine of $250,000 and subsequent three-year supervision.

Earlier it was reported that in the United States a police officer was detained for illegal stay in the country.
