During the study period, 432 hospitals closed in the country, or 8.7% of the number of institutions studied. At the same time, 216 new medical organizations have opened, resulting in a 4.7% decrease in the total number of hospitals compared to 2010 levels.
At the same time, the number of hospital beds decreased by 24,399, which is 3.3% of the 2010 figure. Scientists also noted a change in the pace of opening and closing medical facilities.
In the period under review, the number of hospital closures increased by an average of 4% per year, while the number of new facilities decreased by 3%. Comparable trends were observed in both urban and rural areas.
