Coordination of the activity of the law enforcement unit to identify and suppress corruption at all levels has been ensured in the country. This was stated by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Gora on October 7 at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

The Prosecutor General noted that for a year and a half, almost one and a half thousand official crimes were taken into account. The largest share was embezzlement and bribery:
- More than 1.2 thousand persons were brought to justice, ten of them held a responsible position. According to the results of inspections of compliance with anti-corruption legislation, 236 criminal cases were initiated. Pursuant to the instructions of the Head of State, special attention was paid to the fight against unreasonable mediation, primarily during procurement.
Thus, a large-scale scheme of bribery of officials of organizations of industry, agriculture, housing and communal services, transport and road construction in the supply of electrical equipment was revealed.
Dmitry Gora noted that the amount of bribes was up to 10% of the cost of the purchased equipment and reached 190 thousand rubles. The total amount of revealed bribes is more than 750 thousand rubles. According to the orders of prosecutors, in connection with the violation of the procurement legislation, more than 1.3 thousand procedures were canceled for a total amount of more than 330 million rubles.

- In 2025 and this year, at the initiative of prosecutors, 210 legal entities, including foreign ones, were brought to administrative responsibility. The total amount of fines imposed amounted to 2 million rubles. In order to limit their participation in public and other procurement, work is underway to create a corresponding register. The main attention of prosecutors is focused on identifying corruption in strategic sectors of the economy: industry, agriculture and construction, including during procurement.
Speaking about the improvement of anti-corruption legislation, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus noted that the main efforts are aimed at ensuring effective control over the property status of officials and combating their illegal enrichment.
- At the initiative of the House of Representatives, work is underway to change the rules for declaring income and property. The issue of abolishing the annual submission of declarations is being considered. Instead, the authorized state body will have to monitor the financial position of public officials. The ban for civil servants and officials of state organizations on opening accounts in foreign banks has also been optimized. Now these persons can receive funds abroad under executive documents, social or insurance payments, as well as accept an inheritance, said Dmitry Gora.
