Suidu is called the potato capital of Russia for good reason. And the development of potato growing in the country is closely connected with the name of Abraham Petrovich Hannibal, the great-grandfather of the poet Pushkin. Here, in Suida, was his estate and the first potato fields appeared.
So the case of Pushkin’s great-grandfather lives in Suida to this day. For more than a century in the village there is a farm where this "second bread" is grown. Including the seed. And all cultivated varieties are regionalized for the North-West of Russia and have all the relevant quality certificates.
Earlier, “MK in Leningrad region” said that the Kirish Museum of local lore remembered that there is such a holiday – Handbag Day. And showed handbags fashionistas of Soviet times.
