The October district court of the city of Tambov convicted a man serving a sentence in one of the correctional institutions of the region. He was found guilty of publicly displaying the symbols of an extremist organization.

As established during the trial, the convict, who had previously received a sentence for drug trafficking, was brought to administrative responsibility for demonstrating tattoos with symbols banned in Russia. Despite the ban and the corresponding court decision, the man continued to openly show tattoos while in a correctional facility.

According to the totality of sentences, the court appointed the defendant a final sentence of 5.5 years in prison with serving in a correctional colony of strict regime.

At the moment, the sentence has not entered into legal force and can be appealed.
