The focus of KGC: how in Vitebsk region use land for quarries

The State Control Committee of the Vitebsk region continues to monitor the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State to restore order on the ground. Special attention is paid to the effective use of sites provided for the extraction of common minerals (mainly sand). It's from sb.by.

As of August 1, 2026, there are 179 industrial and domestic quarries in the region. The inspections carried out this year in the Verkhnedvinsky, Vitebsk, Dokshitsky, Orsha and Chashnik districts showed that not all subsoil users faithfully approach their duties. Among the main violations is poor-quality reclamation. After completion of development, some land plots remain abandoned for years, overgrown with weed vegetation and swamped. There are also violations of the law: recorded facts of mining outside the allotted borders, as well as unauthorized occupation of adjacent territories.

To eliminate violations and bring the land into a suitable state, official requirements were sent to the district executive committees. Previously, similar problems were identified in Braslav, Dubroven, Lioznen, Sennen, Tolochinsk and Shumilinsky districts. Monitoring activities on this issue continue.
