On October 9 and 10, Tula hosts an interregional scientific and practical conference “From vulnerability to resilience: psychiatric care and psychological support in modern conditions”. Experts from different regions of Russia and Belarus discuss modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, prevention of stress and depression, as well as the dependence of adolescents on gadgets.
Leading experts in the field of psychiatry and related specialties gathered in the Tula region for the 16th time. The conference was timed to coincide with the World Mental Health Day, and the meeting itself takes place within the framework of the All-Russian Mental Health Week announced by the Ministry of Health of Russia, the press service of the regional government told MK in Tula.
Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Tula Region Dmitry Markov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Early detection of diseases, new treatments and modern drugs help people stay active longer. At the same time, with age, the prevention of stress and professional burnout, as well as the prevention of dementia, are of particular importance.
According to Dmitry Markov, the mental state of a person affects his relations with relatives and colleagues. This year, on behalf of Governor Dmitry Milyaev and with the support of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the region developed a standard for health care in the workplace. One of its areas is devoted to the psychological well-being of employees. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that science should help to find answers to pressing questions related to stress, burnout and various addictions.
Presentations at the conference were made by the President of the Russian Psychotherapeutic Association Sergey Babin, Chairman of the Belarusian Psychiatric Association Oleg Skugarevsky, as well as experts from leading medical and scientific centers of the country. Among them are V. A. Almazov NMIC, I. I. Mechnikov Northwestern State Medical University, RUDN and V. M. Bekhterev NMIC of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Participants discussed genetic markers of mental illness, treatments for depressive disorders, and nomophobia - a strong fear of being without a mobile phone. Special attention was paid to the mental health of adolescents. Among the factors that can contribute to the development of disorders, experts called sleep problems and the habit of watching videos for a long time and reading messages on a smartphone before going to bed.
In the Tula region there are also offices of psychological assistance, where you can get free and anonymous support. Preservation of mental health is part of the national project “Long and active life”.
Earlier, “MK in Tula” wrote that over the three summer months, more than 3.1 thousand residents of the region applied for psychological help for free. From July to September, specialists of the Tula Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital No. 1 named after N.P. Kamenev conducted more than 4.5 thousand consultations in the offices of medical institutions.
