In the Tula region took a course for the development of popular science tourism

The Tula region intends to actively develop popular science tourism and create new routes based on regional scientific and educational potential. This became known at the strategic session for representatives of popular science tourism facilities, which was held in Moscow, shared with MK in Tula in the press service of the Tula Ministry of Tourism.

The event was attended by more than 100 representatives of authorities, universities, popular science tourism facilities, tour operators and agency companies from different regions of Russia, including the Tula region.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia Olga Petrova addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. She noted that such meetings help to strengthen cooperation between regions and universities and promote routes related to science. According to her, universities and research institutes have infrastructure, which is important to show not only tourists, but also schoolchildren and students to increase their interest in scientific activities.

The strategic session was held in two project modules. The participants prepared proposals for updating the Roadmap and the Concept for the Development of Popular Science Tourism, as well as discussed specific ways to promote this direction.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Russian State Humanitarian University.

The Minister of Tourism of the Tula region Elena Martynova on the background of the event stressed that the region has a serious scientific base. It includes research laboratories of universities and REC Tulatech, technology parks and museum sites. According to her, thanks to the initiatives of the Decade of Science and Technology and the activities of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”, interest in travel related to science is gradually growing.

The updated strategy for the development of tourism in the Tula region on behalf of Governor Dmitry Milyaev provides for the creation and introduction of new routes. They should acquaint residents and guests of the region with the results of scientific research and attract more attention to this area, primarily from young people.

We will remind, earlier “MK in Tula” wrote that in the Tula region on the development of agrotourism will direct 5.9 million rubles. More specifically, the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Ecology of the region has started accepting applications for a subsidy for projects in the field of rural tourism.

The amount of support is 50% of the documented expenses for the purchase of property and the performance of works necessary for the development of rural tourism, but not more than 5 million rubles to one applicant. The received funds can be used to reimburse the costs of goods, services and contract work in the presence of supporting documents. The acquired property must be new and not previously used.
