Investigators of the CC of the Russian Federation in the Tver region took part in the implementation of a project aimed at protecting minors from destructive influence and recruitment attempts.
The name of the project – “Exit 31” – refers to Article 31 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which regulates the right to voluntary renunciation of a crime and serves as the legal basis for the initiative. The purpose of the project is to help teenagers not become targets of recruitment to terrorist and other destructive organizations, including for the purpose of arson, bombing and other crimes.
In Tver, the program was implemented in the format of a preventive lecture for cadet classes of municipal schools No. 3 and No. 50 with the participation of activists of the regional branch of the All-Russian Youth Public Organization “Sledcom”. For better engagement, the students were shown an interactive video in which viewers could independently choose answers and analyze possible scenarios of behavior and their consequences.
The project offers a simple algorithm of actions when trying to recruit:
1. Stop;
2. Refuse to perform the assigned task;
3. Tell a trusted adult what happened;
4. Report an attempted recruitment to law enforcement.
The initiative is aimed at creating an understanding in teenagers that psychological pressure, fear or correspondence in messengers should not force them to commit crimes.
