In Ulyanovsk, they determined what architectural details should be preserved at two ancient buildings on Lenin and Andrei Blessed Streets. Both houses have the status of objects of cultural heritage, and their history is associated with the development of the city of XIX - early XX century.
The first building is located on St. Andrew the Blessed, 15. This is a residential building of the beginning of the last century, which is a complex of three interconnected buildings. Its appearance combines the features of eclecticism and modernity - architectural trends common in that period.
The main feature of the house is its asymmetrical facade. The eastern and western parts are distinguished by the design and number of window axes: one has six, the other has five. Among the elements to be preserved, there is also a metal roof, protruding parts of the facade with attics and mezzanine.
The second monument is located at 65 Lenin Street. The house was built in 1870-1890, and it is part of the historical estate of the Rodionov noblemen and Sachkov merchants, formed in 1865-1890-ies.
The building is distinguished by brick facades, which trace elements of the Russian style. Of particular value are the arched windows decorated with columns and decorative masonry, as well as the preserved architectural details of the basement.
Under protection were the entrance gate, inter-storey decorative belt, pilasters of the second floor, vaults and arched openings of the basement. The list includes other elements that determine the historical appearance of the building.
The relevant resolutions were signed by the head of Ulyanovsk Alexander Boldakin. Approval of the subject of protection means that the listed architectural features are officially recognized as valuable and must be taken into account when carrying out works on cultural heritage sites.
