In the Krasnooktyabrsky district there was a monument to the writer Kavi Najmi. This was reported by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin.
The event, together with the head of the region, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Vasil Shaykhraziev. The granddaughter of the writer was also present at the ceremony.
Nikitin called Najmi an amazingly talented and versatile gifted person - a prose writer, poet, translator, public figure, laureate of the State Prize. The governor stressed that the writer made a significant contribution to the development of Tatar culture and reflected the fate and life of Soviet people in difficult, critical periods of the country's history.
The bust was installed in the central square of the village of Urazovka. There are also sculptures dedicated to Tatar singers Rashit Vagapov and Haidar Bigichev.
