The length of the building is up to 10 m, the walls of the crypt are 1.5 m thick. The foundation of the crypt capsule consists of wild boulders. Fragments of the painting are also preserved.
“Sometimes on old maps one can see a small cross marking the place where a church or chapel once stood. Or the letter "K." I've studied a lot of these maps, but I haven't seen it anywhere: other, less significant objects are marked on them, and this one isn't. Geophysicists came with equipment and reported that the site is literally littered with fragments of brick and stone, which is why it is difficult to understand what is underground there, said Dmitry Ivchenko.
There is no picture or photo of the memorial. One of the popular versions is that it was a chapel-tomb for the princess drowned. Laying indicates the beginning of the XVII century. Artifacts found also indicate that it was a building with Renaissance features. One of them is supposedly part of the stained glass. Remains of beaver tail shingles were also found. Construction ceramics were most likely made on site, as the Sokolin fields are rich in clay. Fragments of stagnant material have also been found, but it is not yet clear if they came from this location or were somehow transferred here.
“So far, the Tolochinsky District Executive Committee has not received written reports on the need to give the status of historical and cultural value. As soon as written notice is received, we are ready to consider this offer. We are now conserving the facility for the winter, and as soon as spring comes, of course, we will begin to develop this idea, said Elena Bomberova, Deputy Chairman of the Tolochinsk District Executive Committee.
