In Volgograd, a man will be tried for falsely reporting a bomb

A resident of Volgograd will go on trial for false reporting of an explosive device

The Volgograd Transport Prosecutor’s Office approved the indictment in the case of a 39-year-old man. He is accused under Part 2 of Art. 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: we are talking about a deliberately false message about the impending explosion, which could threaten the lives of people. The investigation believes that the man acted from hooligan motives, and objects of social infrastructure became the object of a false threat.

According to the materials of the case, in August 2026, the accused called from a mobile phone to a single emergency number. In the conversation, he said that an explosive device was laid under one of the cars of the Volgograd-Astrakhan train - this information was initially unreliable.

Now the criminal case has been transferred to the Dzerzhinsky District Court of Volgograd – it will be considered on the merits.
