At noon on October 10, on the southern slope of the Mamayev Kurgan sounded the traditional "Shot of Memory" of 76-mm divisional guns ZIS-3.
At the main height of Russia on this day, a solemn ceremony of awarding green berets and awarding departmental awards to employees of the enforcement body took place.
The honorary right to shoot from the front gun was granted to Lieutenant General of the internal service Alexei Ragozin – Deputy Director of the Federal Bailiff Service, as well as Colonel Yuri Cherednichenko – commander of the military unit 73420. According to tradition, those who produced the “Shot of Memory” were awarded numbered cartridges, which replenish departmental museums of military glory. The event was attended by law enforcement officers.
The initiative of Volgograd citizens to hold an action on memorable dates of military history is supported throughout Russia: from the Southern Federal District to the Far East, as well as in Belarus.
