The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Voronezh opened a criminal case against a 49-year-old local resident. A woman holding the post of head of the post office is suspected of misappropriating the funds entrusted to her.
According to the Ministry, the shortage in the cash register of the post office, located in the Left Bank district, was revealed during an internal audit by the security service. The amount of damage amounted to 518 605 rubles.
According to preliminary data, in the period from 1 to 28 July of this year, the suspect, using his official position, systematically seized cash from the cash register. The woman spent the stolen funds on personal needs, including the repayment of microloans.
A criminal case has been opened against the defendant for embezzlement or embezzlement. The sanction of this article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 6 years.
Currently, police officers are conducting investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
