In Voronezh cheated the family on 10 million rubles scheme with a “meat bouquet”

Over the past day, eight residents of the region became victims of telephone and Internet fraudsters, five more were stolen from bank cards. The total damage exceeded 14 million rubles.

The duty part of the police department No. 8 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Voronezh was addressed by a 51-year-old local resident. As it turned out, the criminal scheme was implemented through his 18-year-old son. The young man received an SMS message about ordering a “meat bouquet”. After that, the attackers, posing as employees of the Ministry of Information, the Central Bank and the FSB, misled the young man, claiming suspicious transactions through his account on the portal “State Services”.

Under the pretext of “registration” of funds, the victim was persuaded to purchase precious metals. Later, the young man handed over valuables to unknown persons in the parking lot on Revolution Avenue, using agreed code words.

The total damage amounted to 10 304 500 rubles. A criminal case was opened for fraud on an especially large scale. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
