In Voronezh for a week, two families suffered from carbon monoxide

Over the past seven days, two cases of carbon monoxide poisoning have been recorded in Voronezh, the victims of which were two families. On Monday, October 12, at the weekly plenary meeting of the city administration said the head of the Department of GO and emergency Sergei Khomuk.

According to him, the incidents are related to the improper use of gas equipment. In some cases, victims have to be hospitalized.

Homuk explained that citizens often operate gas columns without checking their technical condition. In addition, there have been cases where tenants deliberately blocked the ventilation ducts - tape or other materials - to get rid of drafts. This leads to tragic consequences.

A similar case occurred in Voronezh in April: people tried to heat the apartment with an oven and got gas poisoning. Closed windows lead to a lack of oxygen, which is life-threatening and does not affect well-being. Experts emphasize that even fully working ventilation will not make up for the oxygen deficiency, and the included hood only accelerates its outflow from the room, bringing the critical state closer. In such a situation, you should immediately seek medical help.
