According to the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor, in the upcoming epidemic season in the Voronezh region is expected to circulate several strains of influenza. According to the World Health Organization, the most active will be the swine and Hong Kong variants, as well as the type B virus. This was reported on Thursday, October 8.
At the moment, as sanitary doctors note, the incidence in the region is within the usual seasonal values. Since the first days of September, there has been a gradual weekly increase in the number of patients with SARS. However, the total number of patients is still 10% less than in the autumn of 2025.
The main share of diseases is now caused by pathogens of non-influenza nature - rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, parainfluenza, metapneumoviruses, bocaviruses and coronaviruses. At the same time, in late September, the first case of influenza A was recorded in the region this season. As evidenced by open data, this pathogen is highly infectious, and the disease itself is usually more severe.
Experts of Rospotrebnadzor remind that influenza vaccines are updated every year, as new strains appear. That is why vaccination is especially important for children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with chronic diseases. Since the immune defense is produced within two weeks, vaccination is better not to postpone.
To prevent SARS and influenza, it is recommended to visit crowded places less often, avoid communicating with patients, wash your hands thoroughly, use antiseptics and masks, strengthen immunity, adhere to a healthy lifestyle, observe the daily routine and include foods rich in vitamin C in the diet.
Since the beginning of October, vaccination points have started working in three Voronezh shopping centers. You can get a flu shot daily from 11:00 to 17:00.
