In Vyaznikovsky district, the Prosecutor’s office demanded to destroy the thickets of hogweed

Interdistrict Prosecutor’s office found violations in the maintenance of land on the territory of settlements of Vyaznikovsky district. During the inspection, it turned out that in the territories of several municipalities, Sosnovsky hogweed is spreading uncontrollably.

The inspectors found that local administrations did not take the necessary measures in time to destroy the dangerous plant and prevent its further spread. As a result, thickets appeared on various land plots in settlements of the district.

Sosnovsky’s hogweed poses a threat to human health: the substances contained in its juice when ingested on the skin can lead to severe burns. Following the audit, the prosecutor’s office made submissions to the heads of municipalities and demanded to eliminate the revealed violations. Execution of the requirements was put under the control of the Vyaznikov Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office.
