In the Yaroslavl region, firefighters helped detain an arsonist

In Pereslavl-Zalessky, employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry took part in the detention of a suspect in a deadly fire. This is reported by the press service of the EMERCOM

The deadly fire occurred in Pereslavl on October 10. An apartment burned in a one-storey house on Pleshcheevskaya Street. To extinguish the fire, 3 fire engines and 13 firefighters were involved.

The link of the gas smoke protection service was engaged in the evacuation of residents of the entrance, in which the burning apartment was located. In the fresh air brought 7 people. promptly conducted reconnaissance: 7 people were evacuated from the entrance. Inside the burning room, firefighters found a 66-year-old woman and handed her over to medics. Unfortunately, it was not possible to save the victim - she died in hospital from her injuries.

The fire burned one room measuring 12 meters.

Specialists-inquiry EMERCOM of Russia conducted an inspection and established the cause of the fire. It turned out that the fire provoked a cigarette butt thrown in the apartment by an unknown smoker.

Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations from the Department of Supervision and Preventive Work conducted a survey of witnesses and identified who could smoke in the apartment on Saturday evening. The alleged culprit has been identified. Police helped establish the residence of a possible arsonist.

On the detention of the staff of the state police went together with the district Commissioner and his colleagues from the interior Ministry.

The suspect barricaded himself in the apartment and refused to open the door. The building was immediately cordoned off. Realizing that he would not escape peacefully, the man tried to escape through the window, but was promptly detained by the joint efforts of employees of the State Emergencies Ministry of Russia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

In the police, a citizen changed his behavior and wrote a confession. Currently, the issue of initiating a criminal case under two articles is being resolved.
