Vasily Anokhin: Being a donor means helping others without expecting anything in return

Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin noted that the main reward for those who regularly donate blood and plasma are saved lives. Today, the title of Honorary Donor of Russia was awarded to 12 residents of the Smolensk region.

This award is a recognition of many years of selfless service to people. To obtain this status, it is necessary to donate whole blood at least 40 times, plasma at least 60 times or perform the established combination of blood and plasma donations.

In the Smolensk region, the number of honorary donors is growing annually, and at the moment more than 1,850 people have this title. So, only in 2025, 102 residents of the region received the insignia, and since the beginning of 2026 - another 83 people.

For holders of this title, a set of social support measures is provided. Among them are annual cash payments and the right to paid leave at a convenient time, as well as extraordinary medical care in state and municipal health care institutions and priority receipt of preferential vouchers for sanatorium and resort treatment.

Anokhin thanked everyone who regularly goes to the blood center, stressing that participation in the donor movement is a real contribution to the health of the residents of Smolensk region, since for many people donor assistance is a matter of life.
