Vasily Anokhin summed up the results of the week: support for teachers, development of mechanical engineering and modernization of housing in the Smolensk region

Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin spoke about the key events of the last working week.

The head of the region took part in the celebration of Teachers’ Day. More than 15 thousand teachers work in the region, for whom there is a set of support measures, including assistance to young specialists and students-celebrities. In 2026, at the expense of the federal and regional budgets, it is planned to repair almost 70 educational organizations.

Anokhin met with heads of more than 200 enterprises of the machine-building complex. Industry development and training were discussed. Joint efforts on the basis of the Smolensk Academy of Vocational Education created an educational and production cluster "Professionality" for training specialists.

In the format of a video conference, the Governor took part in a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Territorial Development Fund under the leadership of Sergey Stepashin. The modernization of communal infrastructure and resettlement of emergency housing were discussed. This year, with the support of the Foundation, about 80 apartments have been purchased in Smolensk and Safonov, which will allow to relocate 138 people from 8 emergency houses.

A working meeting was held with a joint delegation of Sberbank of Russia and Belarus. The Governor discussed with the Manager of the Smolensk branch Valery Sviridov and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank in Belarus Evgeny Eliseev the prospects of the Bank’s participation in the implementation of investment projects in the region.
