The Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin congratulated the staff, veterans of pedagogical work, students and graduates of the Smolensk Motor Vehicle College named after E. G. Trubitsyn on the anniversary.
The history of one of the oldest institutions of secondary vocational education in the region began in 1946 with the Grankin peat technical school in the Rudnyansky district. In 1972, the technical school was transferred to Smolensk, and in 1991 it received the status of a college. The institution is named after the Hero of Socialist Labor Yevgeny Trubitsyn, thanks to whom the move to the regional center took place.
Today there are about 960 students in the college. It trains specialists in the field of maintenance and repair of transport, operation of road construction equipment and transportation. The institution has modern workshops, the college cooperates with employers and acts as a regional platform for the Professionals Championship. Its students for two years in a row are among the top three participants in several competencies.
In 2025, on the territory of the college, the Square of Memory of Warriors-Automobiles was opened. The central exhibit was the ZIS-5 truck restored by students and teachers.
Vasily Anokhin wished the team and students further development, new achievements and professional victories.
