Leading methodologist of the Pskov Museum Zhanna Arakcheeva held a lesson for guides, caretakers and other museum employees on the topic “Ethics of communication with people with limited mobility and people with disabilities”.
According to the MK in Pskov, the lesson discussed the importance of ensuring equal access to cultural services for all citizens, including people with disabilities. We also discussed ways to create a comfortable stay in the museum for all visitors.
Many objects of the Pskov Museum are architectural monuments and have complex features, such as high stairs. To ensure accessibility, the museum equips its buildings with ramps, elevators and tactile paths.
In addition, many museum staff have been trained to create an accessible environment and inclusive communication with certificates.
The information accessibility of the museum is ensured by the presence of a website, info kiosks with subtitles, audio guides for expositions and braille tablets.
