The publication “Genocide of the Belarusian people”. Burnt Villages not only makes a large-scale contribution to the perpetuation of the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War, but also serves as a powerful tool to counter attempts to falsify history, designed to strengthen social unity and continuity of generations. This opinion today, October 28, at the presentation of the new edition was expressed by Deputy Chairman, Chairman of the judicial board on criminal cases of the Supreme Court Sergey Kondratiev.

In some post-Soviet countries, there are attempts to revive neo-Nazism and whitewash those who directly participated in the genocide of the Belarusian people. To counter this, Belarusians need to know their history, says Sergey Kondratiev:
- Our colleagues from the Prosecutor General’s Office, who launched an investigation into the high-profile criminal case of genocide, piecemeal gathered the evidence base, which served as the basis for recognizing the genocide of the Belarusian people in court at the level of judicial decisions. Today, all these cases are considered exclusively by the Supreme Court. There are currently seven such decisions.

These sentences were handed down against seven citizens of various states, including the Federal Republic of Germany, and sent in translation into a foreign language to Germany. The goal is to show what really happened on our territory and who really took part in the punitive operations. Not only German citizens were present. Citizens of the Baltic States and Ukraine were convicted.
- The latter, the eighth, is currently under consideration. By the end of October, we will issue a court decision against Alexander Buglai, who, according to the indictment, is involved in numerous punitive operations in the Gomel, Minsk and Mogilev regions. The consequences of these operations were the death of more than 174 people, including 27 children, Kondratiev said.
He also noted that the new edition of the genocide will be a good historical material not only for those who are interested in the history of the Great Patriotic War, but also for the younger generation, since there are practically no living witnesses to those terrible events and young people can learn about the facts of the genocide only from such books. More than 35,000 copies. Karlyukevich noted the demand for literature on the genocide of the Belarusian people
