Accessible environments will continue to be created in the capital, so that people with disabilities experience as little inconvenience as possible. The importance of this work was noted by the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev in an interview with the newspaper “Evening Minsk”, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
According to the head of the city, work continues to lower the sidewalks at the crossings. Ramps and elevator equipment are equipped with underground passages. And the entrances of residential buildings are gradually equipped with ramps and lifts, as well as, if possible, devices on the stairs.
- And we will continue to work in this direction, said V. Kukharev.
In Minsk in 2026, it is planned to create conditions for an accessible environment at 87 social infrastructure facilities. 32 housing facilities and 256 street and road network facilities are also adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, including 161 crossings, 80 stops, 15 traffic lights.
