Dagestan authorities take measures against marble bug

The government of Dagestan takes measures after the detection of foci of marble bugs in a number of districts of the republic. Information about the spread of the pest was received on October 6.

Acting Deputy Prime Minister Albert Khasauov instructed to check the information and take exhaustive measures to prevent further spread and destroy the pest. Together with the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Golub and with the assistance of RUDN professor Tamara Astarkhanova, he held consultations with the Deputy Director of the All-Russian Plant Quarantine Center Alexei Safonov.

Following the meeting, experts are working on measures to establish a quarantine phytosanitary regime. The government keeps the situation under control, specialized specialists and departments are involved in the work – they will be engaged in the localization of foci and minimization of damage to agriculture.
