Instead of a wasteland – swings and carousels: how the territory in Novoulyanovsk was transformed

In Novoulyanovsk, a new public space for family holidays appeared on Ulyanovskaya Street. The territory, where formerly there was a wasteland and outdated game designs, turned into a landscaped area with swings, carousels and places for recreation.

Now locals can spend time with children in the equipped area. For young visitors, modern play elements have been installed here, and the playground is covered with a special rubber material that helps soften blows when falling.

In addition to the children's area, workers paved part of the territory, placed benches and urns. Thanks to this, the space has become more convenient not only for games, but also for walking.

The new recreation area was called “Joy”. Her condition is monitored by the local administration. Specialists regularly inspect equipment and coverage, as well as review the comments of residents.

During one of these inspections, it was found that a rubber coating began to peel off on a separate site. The information was transferred to the contractor, which eliminated the identified deficiency. After the repair, the site continued to work as usual.

According to the Ulyanovsk region housing and communal complex modernization fund, the improvement was carried out under the program “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment”, which is part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.

The creation of such public spaces allows you to use previously neglected areas for everyday recreation of citizens, including families with young children.
