In the Vladimir region started the tenth season of “School of the young legislator”

The Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir region opened the anniversary, tenth season of the educational project “School of the Young Lawmaker”. The program introduces high school students and college students to the structure of government and the basics of developing laws.

This year, 65 young people started training. During the month, they will study the principles of public administration, the features of normative work and the procedure for making legislative decisions.

Classes will be held by deputies of the regional parliament, staff of the Legislative Assembly and teachers of leading universities of Vladimir. Participants will be supported during the program by mentors from the Youth Duma.

One of the main tasks for students is to prepare their own legislative initiatives. Young people will have to offer solutions to pressing social problems, develop projects and protect them before experts.

Over the ten years of the program’s existence, more than 500 people have graduated. With the beginning of the new season, the participants were congratulated on behalf of the Chairman of the Regional Parliament Olga Khokhlova. Vice-speaker Vyacheslav Kartukhin and Deputy Chairman of the profile committee Alexander Zakharov also addressed the youth.

Vyacheslav Kartukhin noted that the project has become a platform where young people gain knowledge in the field of law, learn to interact in a team and reasonably present their own proposals. According to him, interest in the educational program continues to grow, and the region is interested in supporting initiative and talented youth.
