In the Vladimir region increased accidents when reversing
Since the beginning of the year, 33 such accidents have been recorded in the region, five of them killed people.

An alarming number of accidents involving trucks and commercial vehicles, which occur when reversing near shops, markets and shopping centers. Since the beginning of the year, 33 such accidents have been recorded in the region, five of them killed people.
This situation requires special attention from both drivers and pedestrians. It is especially important to be careful in loading areas, near retail outlets and in parking lots. The traffic police reminds that most often attacks on pedestrians when reversing in the yards occur due to limited visibility. Parked cars, trees and shrubs get in the way, and people suddenly emerge from the dead zones behind the car. To reduce risks, a comprehensive approach is needed: drivers should be more careful, and pedestrians should be more careful.
It is possible to move in reverse only when the maneuver is safe and does not interfere with other participants of the movement. Before starting the movement, you need to carefully assess the situation: bypass the car and make sure that there are no pedestrians, other cars or obstacles behind. You should check the rear-view mirrors and the camera, if any. They help control space, but they are not a substitute for visual control. You need to act carefully and at minimum speed in order to have time to react to an unexpected appearance of a person. If visibility is difficult or there are many pedestrians around, it is better to ask for assistance from passengers or passers-by.
