In October, the reservoirs of the Vladimir region became a temporary residence for a representative of tropical fauna. The pink flamingo photographed by Anna Efimova in the Sugodsky district has become a real sensation for the region.
Ornithologists note that for the middle strip of Russia such a meeting is a huge rarity. Flamingos live in Africa, Southern Europe and Asia. They don't nest in Russia.
The bird may have been introduced by an abnormal cyclone during seasonal migration.
Or a young individual could fend off the pack and lose orientation.
Police say the bird is active and healthy. However, for the heat-loving species, the coming Russian winter poses a mortal danger if it does not find its way to the south.
