Volkswagen Tiguan driver will be tried for repeated drunken driving in the Voronezh region

A 57-year-old resident of the Kalacheevsky district will face trial for driving again after drinking alcohol. The criminal case against the man was received in the district court, the press service of the court on November 6.

The incident occurred in June 2026 in Kalach. The man drank alcohol, then went to ride through the city streets in a Volkswagen Tiguan. The trip was interrupted by DPS officers. During the inspection, the inspectors suspected that the motorist was drunk, and invited him to undergo an examination.

The inspection confirmed suspicions: the concentration of alcohol in the exhaled air was 1.116 mg per liter.

At the same time, the driver has already been in the field of view of the police for a similar violation. Just three months before the new case, he was punished administratively: he was fined 45 thousand rubles and banned from driving for a year and a half.

Despite this, the man again broke the law. Now his actions were qualified under part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. For repeated driving while intoxicated, he can face up to two years in prison.

The case file has already been submitted to the court. The date of the meeting is currently being decided.
