Volgograd residents were reminded that housing insurance does not cover damage from pets
If the damage is caused to neighbors, pet owners will have to fully compensate for it.

A cat from the Ulyanovsk region, left unattended, showed wonders of dexterity, opening a water valve with his paw. The result of his amateur activity was an impressive flood, which caused damage exceeding 600 thousand rubles. As it turned out, such incidents, when pets become the culprits of destruction - not so rare. This was shared with “Gazeta.ru” Julia Serova, head of the Department of payments for insurance of property and liability of Rosgosstrakh.
Often the cause of “water” troubles becomes an aquarium. Accidental overflow when filled can lead to flooding of the floor, furniture and, most unpleasantly, the apartments of neighbors below. Similar cases took place in high-rise buildings of Labytnangi and Moscow. Sometimes these stories come to court proceedings between residents. Therefore, the owners of apartments in apartment buildings are advised to issue civil liability insurance.
In Tatarstan, the culprit of flooding in a high-rise building was a dog. Without waiting for a walk, she made puddles in the apartment, which led to damage to the ceiling and wiring from neighbors below. The insurance payment amounted to 24.5 thousand rubles. In the heat of chasing an imaginary “prey”, pets often drop equipment. So, in Perm, a cat dropped a TV, in the Chelyabinsk region cats chewed on a laptop, in Moscow a dog broke a TV screen, and a dog from the capital region sent a phone from the table straight to the concrete floor.
And birds can be a source of problems. In the Murmansk region, pigeons damaged the mosquito net. In the Samara, Kirov, Vologda regions and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, they flew through the windows, breaking windows. And in Altai, the outer wall of a private house suffered. In Karelia, ants caused harm, damaging the floor, and in the Ryazan region, the invasion of bedbugs from neighbors turned into a spoiled sofa, bed and mattress. In the countryside of the Perm Territory, an angry bull, breaking off the chain, damaged the wall of the barn, and in one of the villages the bear completely demolished the fence.
According to Yulia Serova, liability to third parties is included in the standard housing insurance package. The owner can only adjust the amount of coverage if necessary. This means that in the event of an insured event, the perpetrator of the incident will not suffer financial losses - the damage will be compensated to the injured party by the insurance company.
