Volgograd residents promised geomagnetic calm on October 8
Geomagnetic situation on this day will be calm – magnetic storms are not expected

According to the forecast of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory IKI RAS, October 8, 2026, the Earth's magnetosphere will be in a stable state. The probability of a calm geomagnetic situation will be about 87%, local disturbances are possible with a probability of about 10%, and the probability of a full-fledged magnetic storm is only about 3%.
For the Kp index, this will mean that during the day it will stay in the region of 2 units - that is, the "space calm". For most people, the day will be peaceful. Meteor-sensitive people can also not be afraid - no unpleasant surprises "space weather" will not present.
Outbreaks, including those of class M, had been recorded in previous days, but by October 8, activity had faded. On this day on the sun no special events are expected. New active regions will not appear, and emissions will not be directed directly to Earth.
