Volgograd students are waiting for the longest autumn holidays in 10 years
This year they will last 12 days.

Autumn holidays for schoolchildren in Russia in the 2026-2027 academic year will be the longest in the last decade. This follows from the recommendations of the Ministry of Education, which TASS studied.
For comparison, in the previous academic year (2025-2026), the rest was 11 days - from October 25 to November 2, as well as additional weekends on November 3 and 4. However, in the period from 2016-2017 to 2024-2025, the autumn holidays were noticeably shorter and fit into 9 or 10 days.
Thus, an increase of two or three days compared to the usual schedule is a significant change that will allow schoolchildren to regain strength after the first academic quarter, and families to plan a more eventful vacation that does not overlap with holidays.
The Ministry of Education emphasizes that the recommendations are indicative, but the regions, as a rule, follow them when approving calendar schedules.
